Union Law Minister Kapil Sibal on Saturday addressed a press conference in the wake of the IPL spot-fixing scandal. Sibal said, "A new anti-fixing law is needed to tackle dishonest practices in sports.
"The law ministry is in consulation with the Attorney General. The new law will not be applicable to cricket alone, but to other sports as well."
Sibal said that the bill is still in its draft stage. He has also met Leader of Opposition Arun Jaitley and IPL chief Rajiv Shukla regarding the bill and both have pledged their support.
